Diane Szalinski was getting "prettied up" (as Aimee put it) for her date with her husband Wayne. He had promised her that it would be a havoc-less night, especially after the last "incident" which everyone in the family had agreed not to speak of anymore.
Diane put in two golden earrings that hung down from her head and turned to face Aimee.
"So, how do I look?"

"Great mom," Amy said in a bored tone. "But why is dad taking you out on a date? You're already married to the guy, isn't that enough?"

Wayne was haveing a fight with his tie. He never got dressed up like this unless he had a presintation to give at work, and even then only rarely. he made a mental note to make a machie to fix ties before going to ask Nick if he knew how to tie them.

Nick pulled himself to his feet. "It's simple dad just tuck, fold, and pull." He laughed and threw himself back on to the couch. "So where are you takeing mom?"
