The One We've Been Waiting For

[Stoney]

Stoney was seriously freaking out. He had been jokingly preparing a date with Cori for months. Each of them had been pressured into it. He ran his hand through his hair and got it caught.
"Ferg, I'm freakin'." He said. "What am I supposed to do, I don't know anything about this chick." Stoney stopped himself. "Well, I do know that I'm strictly forbidden from ever calling her mini-nug again, but other than that I know nothing!"

[Fergi]

"Calm down," Fergi said slowly, using hand motions to symbolize calming down. "You just have to keep your cool, and be..." Fergi looked at the boy and bit her lip. "On second thought, maybe you shouldn't be yourself. Act like someone you think Cori would like."

[Stoney]

Stoney went into his closet and changed into an outfit. He came out to have the girl take a look at him. He was wearing a pair of black paints with a white shirt and black jacket over it. Most of his rings had been removed (but only most, after all he had to have something that was him in the look.) He had also pulled his bushy hair back into a ponytail since it was the only thing to tame it.
"So, what'd you think?"

[Fergi]

Fergi had to admit that he looked good. She smiled a shaky smile to try and hide how upset she really was. She was not happy with the idea of Stoney going out with another girl.
"You look great, Stone. Perfect even..." Fergi choked out the last part and hoped he didn't notice.

[Stoney]

Stoney smiled at his friend. "Okay, I've got to act smart." He hit himself on the side of the head as if looking for something smart in it. "I know! Jeopardy!"
Stoney turned to leave the room, but first he turned around and gave the girl a thumbs up.
"Thanks for the help!"

[Cori]

Cori looked in her closet for anything that she could wear for a date with Stoney. When she saw her Haloween costume fron the year before she was sure she had a winner. She pulled on the orange bell-bottoms and paisly top. She looked around the room once more and her eyes caught on the jewelry her friends had gotten her for her birthday. She opened the packages and put on the 'gunky' jewelry.
If she had it her way she would be spending the evening at home with a good book. Teachers were right, peer pressure did kill.
She raced down stairs, "Nick how do I look?"

[Nick]

Nick didnt have the heart to tell Cori she looked absolutely rediculous so he gave the best answer he could, "You look like someone Stoney would date."

[Cori]

Cori ran a hand through her hair. "Tell me again why I'm doing this," she mumbled as the doorbell rang. She opened the door, "Hi Stoney."

[Stoney]

Stoney smoothed down his multicolored tux front. It was a darkish purple kind. Then he ran a hand through his, not wild, hair which he had made a pathetic attempt at gelling down and tying back. It now looked like it was wet, uncombed, and in a ponytail because of his attempt.
"Hey Cori, you look smashing, darling." He said, his first pathetic attempt at sounding smart.

[Cori]

"You look smashing too... dude." Actualy she thought hew looked like he'd had a bottle of soda smashed over his head. "So you wanna go?"

[Stoney]

"Yes dear, that would be a splendid idea." It was obviously a forced comment. He put his arm out to the girl to take it, pretty sure she wouldn't.

[Cori]

Cori supprised even herself when she took Stoney's arm. This is going to be one akward evening...

[Stoney]

Stoney led the girl out to his "car" which was actually his rainbow moped. "Um, you may need this." He said, handing the girl a helmet. "I don't actually have a license yet."

[Cori]

Cori looked at the helmet and then at Stoney. Somehow it didnt supprise her, with all the times she had seen him driveing it to school on the sidewalk and everything. Che clipped the stap under her chin, "So where are we going?"

[Stoney]

"I was thinking that we could possibly attend a nice opera, but the costs are so high," Stoney said, straining with every syllable. Not at all enjoying this so called "normal talk." "So instead we shall attend a viewing of the museum. Does that sound splendid to you?"
